Research Interests
I received my Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign under the supervision of Prof. Diane M. Beck. As a member of the Scene-Classification Group, my graduate work primarily focused on the perception and representation of natural scenes. I also researched eye movements, attention, and visual search with Prof. Alejandro Lleras.
I have since begun postdoctoral research with Prof. Miguel Eckstein at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Here, I plan to continue my work in both of these topics by investigating visual attention and memory in natural environments.
Alongside my collaborators, I have used behavioral measures (e.g., response times, accuracies, and eye movements), functional neuroimaging, and computational methods to try to understand how we extract information from our visual environment.
